Staff Bios

  • Amanda Sloane

    Amanda has been playing piano and singing since she was a kid. She started playing in bands 15 years ago and writes everything from psychedelic synth music to mandolin-based acoustic songs in her current project Pareidolia. She is also a Transformational Voice-trained vocal instructor. She loves hanging out with her 10 year-old son and dancing to French pop music.

  • Cory West

    Cory migrated from Boston in 2012 after completing a B.M. in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, where he focused on playing guitar and performing in original music projects around the New England area. He has also been gigging and recording as a Bassist and Drummer for the past three years, with 10+ years of prior experience on each instrument respectively. When he's not teaching at SOR he spends his time working with his band, LiquidLight while also deriving great joy from coming up with terrible jokes and puns that put a smile (and sometimes a frown) on the faces of his co-workers and students.

  • David Coniglio

    As our Music Director and head drum instructor, David brings a ton of teaching and playing experience to our school. He's a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he worked with some of the world's finest musicians. He currently plays drums in local prog band Humours and also plays drums and vibraphone alongside Jose Medeles in their spacey instrumental quartet, 1939 Ensemble. They have been featured on Pitchfork, Spin, and Rolling Stone. Besides teaching and playing drums, David enjoys the simple things in life - spending time with his family, grilling and listening to baseball. Dave also makes the best drum faces in the history of drumming!

  • Eric Hedford

    Best known for his drumming in The Dandy Warhols and DJ'ing as Aquaman at his long running soul night at The Goodfoot, Eric is a multi-faceted musician with a genuine appreciation of many styles of music and a ton of experience working patiently with both creative professionals and kids. He loves teaching, making ice cream, and bidding on rare vinyl 45's on eBay. Available for drums on Sundays and Thursdays.

  • Kyle Rozich

    Kyle “The Falcon” Rozich hails from Detroit ,“Rock City” MI and graduated from Miriam Cannon Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. He teaches guitar and bass, and how to shred with a Rock n’ Roll ‘tude that comes straight from the heart. He’s currently gigging as a side-man with various groups in Portland, OR, such as Finehouse, an Amy Winehouse tribute project. His influences range from Rock to Blues to R&B to Jazz with many esoteric stops along the way. Hobbies include perfecting his Mick Jagger impression for Karaoke and aggregating his vinyl record collection.

  • Sonia Weber

    Sonia Weber grew up in Portland and has been teaching drums, bass, and guitar at School of Rock for the past 6 years. If you wanna play any kind of punk or work on songwriting she's the teacher for you! Loves Green Day, pop punk, and finding new ways to teach and think about music. Her biggest influences are 80's and 90's punk and alternative bands like The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, and Jawbreaker. She plays guitar and sings in local queer punk band Alien Boy and drums in indie rock projects Little Star and Floating Room.
